FAQs
Think of RockPot as a cooking appliance. Only you will know when your food is done. Rockpot cooks equivalent to the low setting on a traditional crockpot.
Start with the right food temperature and timing. Since the RockTablet® continues to release heat over 8+ hours. Here’s how to dial it in:
- Use the 30-minute stovetop preheat only if you’re cooking raw or hearty meals (like chili, stews, or large cuts of meat).
- For quicker meals or already-cooked foods, preheat the RockTablet® for 20 minutes instead without your inner pot on top.
- Cut your ingredients evenly so they cook at the same rate.
- Don’t use frozen foods—they absorb too much heat during defrosting and then cooking.
- Once sealed in the RockPot®, don’t open it mid-cook—you’ll lose heat and mess with the slow cook magic.
- If your meal finishes early (like after a hike), it’ll stay hot for hours, but you can always vent it slightly to slow the cooking process.
Since the RockPot® is 7.5 quarts it can cook food for up to 6 people
Yes! RockPot® has double walled lining so while your food is cooking on the inside, it's safe to touch on the outside.
Heating the RockTablet® on your stovetop for 30 minutes will bring it to around 450–500˚F. When heated in a well-built campfire, it can reach up to 600–750˚F within 30 minutes, depending on the flame and wood used. The RockTablet® is engineered to handle extreme heat, but always use your hook tool when handling it for safety.
